What does love truly mean?

I have learned over the years that people really don't understand what the word "LOVE" truly mean. People use the word "LOVE" very lightly without understanding its true meaning. If you look up the word "Love" in the Webster's dictionary it means: to show affection for; to be delighted with; to admire passionately. When you truly love someone you will be drawn to that person for who they are from their inner soul to their outward apperance. You will love that person because of their great personality, their great smile, their love for life and not just for how they look. If you want to go deeper lets look at it on a spiritual level. In 1 Corinthians chapter 13 starting at verse 4 and ending with verse 7 (New Living Translation Bible): Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. So, if we followed the spiritual guidelines to loving someone then their will be a lot of relationships saved. You would never do anything to hurt that special someone. You would have the utmost respect for him or her. You would trreat them the way you wanted to be treated. You would love them unconditionally and without any regrets. You wouldn't show jealousy but trust them. You would never brag on yourself but praise them for the things they do. no matter how small. Loving someone means that if they do mess up you will forgive them and move on. You will not keep an account of how many times they mess up but leave it in the past. Past mistakes and failures should never keep coming up in a relationship because that's not showing love. In a relationship there has to be great communication, trust and complete honesty. If you say you love someone then show it in everything you do. Love is an action word so you have to show love every single mintue. If you truly love someone never take them for granted but appreciate them for who they are. Make sure you absolutely understand what the word "LOVE" means before you start using it loosely.
